Reynolds Wrap Discovery

No, of course I didn't just discover Reynolds Wrap! I was first married on 1/20/68 and have been using it for all those 42 years. Not only do I bake with it, I line my paint tray for easy cleanup, I have made helmets for Halloween costumes and even used it for emergency gift wrap! So obviously, I love Reynolds Wrap! But I have always had one complaint: You know when you grab the box in your right hand and pull out the foil- it just jumps out of the box and unrolls its way to the floor! Then its almost impossible to get back in the box with the box flaps getting in the way! GRRR!! ( Now I'm wondering why I hold it in my right hand in the first place- being right handed!) WELL-- hold the fort! Go get your box- right now.....I'll wait......

Got it? Now look at the end of the box:

See that little triangle that says "PRESS HERE TO LOCK ROLL"??? When the heck did they add that? OMG! The box also tells me that Reynolds Wrap has been trusted since 1947!! I sure hope that tab wasn't there all those years and I totally missed it! If you didn't know either please leave a comment because right now I am feeling pretty numb! ;-)

**These opinions are mine alone. I was neither offered or received compensation for this post.

haha! It has been there for quite a while now but it sometimes is more of a pain if you don't punch it in correctly. Cute post!! I love my Reynolds Wrap too :)

OK Ron you got me--I had to go check the box in my kitchen.Sure enough there it was. I never noticed that before and like you I've had the roll fall out and roll across the floor. I enven shook the box upside down after pushing the button and it didn't fall out. WHO"D A THUNK!!!!!

I am Soooo Glad you shared this tidbit of info!

My tip of the day--right before Xmas, there were Lots of sale @ local grocery on reynolds. I had Q's and stocked up. Probably will not need to buy any now for the next 5 years!

I hate to tell ya my dear Ron but I could of told ya that a long time ago hehehe
But I have to admit I didn't find it on my own I was sent an email from my good ole friend/supervisor Judy about this same thing because I guess the majority of us all had no idea about the roll lock lol So until I got that email I did the same as you did. Then I shared it with my mother who also didn't know and had been fighting with the roll for over 50+ years lol You will be surprised at how many people learned from that floating email that circulated and how many that didn't get the email and are still fighting with Reynolds today lol lol

Yes, it was there for some time. But, it is still a pain sometimes. It gets hold of it too tight. Then you fight with it. My big problem is just opening it. I always cut my fingers on those little sharp things that cut it. You would think they would have a gard on that.

I may just be opening it wrong:)
